KP CM Gandapur Meets Army Chief, Discusses Provincial Resource Allocation and Taxation Issues

ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur revealed during a media briefing that he met with the Army Chief after attending the Special Investment Facilitation Council meeting in Islamabad.

Gandapur mentioned meeting the Army Chief twice, emphasizing his commitment to ensuring the province receives its fair share of resources. He reiterated his opposition to imposing taxes on the FATA and PATA regions, urging the federal government to avoid further taxation. He claimed that the federal government had accepted their proposal.

Addressing the issue of load shedding, the Chief Minister communicated the province’s concerns to the federal government. He stressed the importance of releasing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s funds, referring to the province’s dues as “compulsions” rather than “theft.” Gandapur emphasized his commitment to providing relief to the province’s residents and called for the immediate release of funds.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Information, Atta Tarar, stated that the IPCC meeting conveyed a message of unity. He confirmed that Gandapur had pledged full cooperation and that their discussions were conducted in a lighter tone.

Tarar also highlighted that six desks would be established within the SIFC to address specific issues, a decision welcomed by all four Chief Ministers. He added that the Prime Minister made it clear the federal government’s focus is on investment, not loans.

Gandapur’s proactive approach to securing the province’s rights and resources underscores his dedication to the welfare of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s people. The collaborative efforts between provincial and federal authorities aim to foster unity and address the region’s pressing concerns, promoting a more stable and prosperous future for all involved.
