Kidnapped Girls
KARACHI: In a significant development, two girls aged 14 and 12, who were abducted from Rawalpindi seven months ago, have been successfully rescued from Karachi.
According to Karachi police, the girls, who are cousins, were kidnapped from Rawalpindi’s Ghaziabad area.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Syed Asad Raza disclosed that one of the girls was recovered from Karachi’s Defence area on May 14, while the other was found in a shelter home.
The 14-year-old girl was brought to the police station by a housemaid who found her on the footpath.
Upon questioning, she revealed her identity as a resident of Ghaziabad. Further investigation revealed that the abduction occurred seven months ago in Rawalpindi, and the girls were subsequently transferred to Karachi.
The DIG South mentioned the involvement of a beauty parlor owner in the kidnapping. Both girls have now been handed over to the Rawalpindi police.
This successful recovery sheds light on the concerted efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat abduction cases and ensure the safety of citizens.
In a separate incident earlier on March 27, a seven-year-old girl was abducted while playing outside her residence in Gharo.
CCTV footage captured the abduction, prompting local police to initiate an investigation. SSP Thatta Dr. Imran Niazi directed his team to scour all roads in the district in pursuit of the perpetrator.
