Khushhal Khan Khattak Train Service Reopens After Years of Suspension

Train Service

The Pakistan Railways has officially restarted the much-anticipated Khushhal Khan Khattak train service between Karachi and Peshawar, ending a long hiatus that had lasted several years. The service’s resumption is a welcome development for many, particularly for those living in the regions between these two major cities.

The first arrival of the Khushhal Khan Khattak train at the Larkana railway station was met with vibrant celebrations from both local residents and railway staff. The excitement of the public highlighted the significant impact the service’s return will have on the region.

For many commuters, this resumption means better connectivity and convenience, allowing them to travel more easily between Karachi and Peshawar, two of Pakistan’s key cities.

The suspension of several train services during the COVID-19 pandemic had led to a noticeable gap in transportation options across the country. With the revival of the Khushhal Khan Khattak service, this gap is now being addressed.

Residents of various districts, including Dadu, Larkana, Shikarpur, Kandhkot, and Kashmore, will benefit from improved access to travel services. This marks a step forward in improving the regional transportation infrastructure, making it easier for people in these areas to travel to Peshawar.

In addition to the excitement surrounding the train’s return, there was also a heightened security presence during the event. Police forces ensured that the celebrations proceeded safely and without incident.

This security presence comes as a precautionary measure, given the past challenges faced by Pakistan Railways in maintaining the safety of passengers and staff.

Meanwhile, the Jaffar Express train service in Balochistan, which had been suspended for 16 days following a terrorist attack in the Bolan area, also resumed operations on March 27.

The attack had temporarily halted the service, but the resumption of this service, departing from Peshawar Cantt Railway Station en route to Quetta, marks another positive step for the country’s rail network.

The continued efforts to restore these vital services demonstrate Pakistan Railways’ commitment to providing safe and efficient transportation across the country.
