Khawaja Haris
ISLAMABAD: Khawaja Haris, the lead counsel for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, parted ways with the legal team of Imran Khan.
Khawaja Haris took the decision amid his reservations regarding the discipline problems within the PTI chairman’s legal team.
Senior lawyer Sardar Latif Khosa confirmed this in today’s hearing in the Islamabad High Court. The IHC took up for hearing the plea of PTI chairman, seeking suspension of his sentence.

On Thursday, Sardar Latif Khosa represented Imran Khan in the Islamabad High Court.
Advocate Haris had advised against the PTI’s legal team raising objections regarding Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Aamer Farooq. IHC chief justice is presiding over the Toshakhana case.
Therefore, Khawaja Haris was visibly dissatisfied with the interference of other legal team members in decision making.
Consequently, Khawaja Haris returned all case files to the PTI chief’s legal team. He said that he will not participate in the Toshakhana case hearing at the IHC.
From today, Sardar Latif Khosa and other team members are representing the PTI chief in the Toshakhana and other cases.
Earlier, Imran Khan engaged Khawaja Haris to represent him in cases related to Toshakhana, NAB amendments, and other matters in various courts.
This development comes after the PTI announced to submit a reference against IHC Chief to the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC). This decision followed the refusal of a bench led by the judge to suspend the sentence of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case.
The PTI Core Committee strongly criticized the postponement of the case by the IHC until Thursday.
The party conveyed its decision to file a reference against Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq. Additionally, the party called on the CJP Bandial to take note of the IHC chief justice decision.
