Kashmir Solidarity Day observed across the globe
On Sunday, people from all over the world showed their solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in their rightful battle for the right to self-determination in accordance with Kashmiri aspirations and UN Security Council resolutions.
Lectures and events were organised by Pakistani embassies and posts to raise attention to the UN’s longest-running and unresolved problem.
Protest processions and protests were also held in other countries by individuals of various nationalities and expatriates.
TOKYO
On February 3, 2023, the Pakistan Embassy in Tokyo staged an event to honour Kashmir Solidarity Day.
Members of the Pakistani community, Kashmiris, and Japanese were among those who took part.
Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, the convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, took part in the meeting online.
The ambassador-designate emphasised the continued atrocities committed by Indian occupation forces in IIOJK.
He added that Pakistan totally backed the Kashmiri resistance.
Protests were held earlier in the day in front of the Indian Embassy & the UN Office in Tokyo by Kashmiris and members of the Pakistani community, who carried flags and banners.
KABUL
The Pakistani Embassy in Kabul organised an event to celebrate Kashmir Solidarity Day.
In order to demonstrate solidarity for their Kashmiri brothers and sisters and to honour the sacrifices made by the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their right to self-determination against the merciless Indian army.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Pakistani Embassy and Pakistani citizens residing in Kabul.
Deputy Charge d’Affaires In his address, Muhammad Junaid Wazir said:
The Indian army illegally invaded Jammu and Kashmir on October 27, 1947, in conjunction with the Dogra Raj and against the wishes of the Kashmiris.
If the inhabitants of the valley are to obtain justice, the international world, he claims:
Must act justly and fulfill its vow to hold a plebiscite in compliance with UN Security Council resolutions.
CANADA
To mark Kashmir Solidarity Day:
The Pakistan High Commission in Canada and Pakistan consulates in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal held a variety of events, including roadshows, protests, and picture exhibitions.
The main event took place at the Pakistan High Commission in Ottawa.
At the event, High Commissioner Zaheer Janjua spoke to a gathering of Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora on the significance of Kashmir Solidarity Day.

He emphasised that Jammu and Kashmir were one of the first internationally recognised conflicts on the UN Security Council’s agenda.
Despite the presence of 11 UN resolutions on the matter:
He alleged that India has consistently impeded attempts to hold a free, fair, and impartial referendum in IIOJK, as required by the resolutions.
Furthermore, The high commissioner further emphasised the sacrifices and sufferings endured by Kashmiris as a result of India’s illegal and unilateral actions on August 5, 2019.
In Addition, He asserted :
India’s Bharatya Janata Party was carrying out the Hindutva mission of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in Kashmir by assaulting Kashmiri culture and identity.
