Karachi: The city was shaken once again on Monday evening as it experienced its ninth earthquake within 24 hours, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The most recent tremor was recorded at 8:49 PM, registering a magnitude of 3.0 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was located 30 kilometers east of DHA at a depth of 13 kilometers, reported the National Seismic Monitoring Centre in Islamabad.
Fortunately, no casualties or damage to property have been reported from any of the recent seismic events.
The Met Office has warned that minor tremors may persist over the next 48 hours, advising residents to stay alert and follow standard safety protocols during seismic activity.
Earlier in the day, a 3.2 magnitude quake struck near Quaidabad, with tremors felt across Malir, Landhi, Sherpao Colony, Port Qasim, and surrounding neighborhoods. Eyewitnesses said residents rushed outdoors in fear and confusion.
Late Sunday night at 1:06 AM, another 3.2 magnitude earthquake hit near Gadap Town, shaking areas including Khokhrapar, Future Mor, Gul Ahmed, and Hospital Chowrangi. As with previous tremors, no injuries or structural damage were reported.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and have urged the public to remain calm while staying informed through official updates.
