JUI-F leader Hafiz Hamdullah was transferred to Karachi for advanced medical treatment following injuries sustained in a roadside blast the previous day near Mastung town in Balochistan, along with 10 other individuals.
The doctors at a Mastung hospital immediately treated Mr. Hamdullah before transferring him, along with other injured individuals including party leaders and security personnel, to Civil Hospital Quetta. Among the injured, at least three were in critical condition.
Hafiz Hamdullah suffered injuries to his head and arms, but his condition was stable. Nevertheless, after consulting with doctors at the Civil Hospital, the party leadership made the decision to relocate him to Karachi for further treatment, primarily due to his head injury. A special aircraft transported him to Aga Khan Hospital in Karachi.
Simultaneously, the Counter-Terrorism Department registered an FIR against unidentified individuals in connection with the bomb attack.
Officials reported that the blast occurred near Mr. Hamdullah’s vehicle as he reached the Killi Chotu area on the outskirts of Mastung while en route from Quetta to address a public gathering. The explosion caused significant damage to his vehicle.
People in and around Quetta city observed a shutdown strike in response to the Mastung bomb attack. Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, the Secretary General of JUI-F, led the strike with support from the ANP and local traders.
During the strike, shops, markets, shopping malls, and business centers in areas such as Jinnah Road, Liaquat Bazaar, Iqbal Road, Prince Road, Abdul Sattar Road, Mission Road, and others remained closed.
