Italian Aircraft Carrier Arrives in Karachi for Defence Industry Forum

An Italian aircraft carrier has docked at Karachi port, signifying a pivotal moment for industrial collaboration between Italy and Pakistan. The vessel, named al Pino, boasts advanced frigate technology and will be stationed from October 14 to 16.

A Defence Industry Forum is scheduled to occur on the Italian ship today, organized by the Secretariat General of Defence and the National Armament Directorate, with assistance from the Federation of Italian Companies for Aerospace, Defence, and Security.

The arrival of the Italian naval vessel aims to foster dialogue between key industries in both nations. Marilena Armellini, the Italian Ambassador to Pakistan, will hold a press conference on the ship to outline the visit’s objectives.

Last year, the Italian Navy Ship MOROSINI visited Karachi and participated in a bilateral exercise with the Pakistan Navy.

Upon arrival at Karachi Port, the Italian naval ship received a warm welcome from senior officials of the Pakistan Navy and the Italian ambassador, as stated by the Pakistan Navy.

Following the port visit, the Pakistan Navy ship SHAHJAHAN, equipped with an embarked helicopter and PAF fighters, conducted a sea exercise with the visiting Italian ship to improve interoperability between the two navies.

Simultaneously, Military Personnel of the Italian Navy, including Vice Admiral Andrea Gueglio, visited Pakistan and met with Pakistan Fleet Commander Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi. During their discussions, they addressed mutual interests and explored future collaboration to enhance regional maritime security.
