ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has reserved its verdict on a petition filed by PTI Chairman Imran Khan, challenging the maintainability of the Toshakhana criminal case against him.
Chief Justice Aamir Farooq presided over the hearing, with Imran Khan’s lawyer, Khawaja Haris, presenting arguments in court. Imran Khan has also requested a stay on the trial in the case.
The IHC has sent the case back to the trial court. It has given the trial court seven days to make a decision. The court had previously asked the trial court to answer eight questions. However, according to Khawaja Haris, not all of the questions were answered in accordance with the court’s order.

The IHC reserved its decision on the plea challenging the maintainability of the Toshakhana case. The next hearing in the trial court is scheduled for tomorrow.
Additionally, Imran Khan has filed an appeal in the IHC against the decision to deem the illegal marriage case against him admissible. The district and sessions court has summoned Imran Khan in the case tomorrow.
A plea to transfer seven cases to other courts
The Chief Justice of the IHC has reserved his verdict on the request made by the PTI chief and his wife to transfer seven cases to another court.
During the hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer, Sher Afzal Marwat, mentioned that the bail application of the co-suspects in one of the cases had been rejected by the trial court. It was also pointed out that the PTI chairman was named as an accused in the same case.
The lawyer argued that the judge had already expressed a clear position on the matter. This makes it inappropriate for him to decide on the PTI chairman’s request. Marwat further emphasized that the same judge is hearing all these applications. He requested their transfer to a different court.
