India’s hostile actions in Kashmir pose a serious threat to regional peace: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: On Youm-e-Istehsal, observed by Kashmiris worldwide to reject India’s atrocities in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu Kashmir (IIOJK), the Pakistan military criticized New Delhi for its hostile actions, emphasizing the perpetual threat they pose to regional security. In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) condemned India’s hostile actions in the valley and called for a peaceful solution following the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

The ISPR released a statement on Saturday condemning India’s revocation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019. It eliminated the special status of the occupied valley. The move was widely condemned by Kashmiris. It triggered a military siege and loss of autonomy, leading to an international outcry.

Hostile

The ISPR expressed solidarity with the people of IIOJK in their just struggle for the right to self-determination. The military’s media wing highlighted the inhumane military lockdown and illegal measures to change the demographic structure of the occupied territory. It also focused on gross violations of human rights as clear breaches of international law.

The statement emphasized the importance of resolving the dispute in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the people. It highlighted that such a resolution is essential for achieving enduring peace and stability in the region.

The Pakistan Armed Forces honored the martyrs of IIOJK for their sacrifices and committed to extending complete support. They promised to provide political, moral, and humanitarian assistance to Kashmiris in their just struggle against tyranny and illegal subjugation.

India’s human rights violations against innocent Kashmiris have worsened since the revocation of Article 370, leaving the valley’s residents threatened and living under tyranny with frequent curfews and illegal outsiders taking over their properties.

PM vows to continue to Kashmiris

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to supporting the rightful and just cause of the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people. In his message on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsa, he stated that Pakistan would continue to echo the voices of the Kashmiri people on all international platforms.

The PM called on the world to urge India to put an end to its egregious human rights violations. He emphasized the need for India to reverse all unilateral and illegal measures.

Prime Minister noted that it has been four years since India’s illegal revocation of the special status of IIOJK. During this period, India used brutal force and violence to suppress the Kashmiri people. He also pointed out that India has taken various measures aimed at altering the internationally recognized disputed status of IIOJK. These hostile actions aim to bring demographic changes in the valley in India’s favor.
