Restoring the bank accounts and identity cards of Zaheer’s brother Shabbir and other family members implicated in the Dua Zehra case was ordered by the Sindh High Court on Friday.
In the case of the alleged kidnapping and marriage of Karachi minor Dua Zehra, a two-member bench led by Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro heard the plea for the restoration of accounts of Zaheer’s family members.
The lawyers for the petitioner argued in court that the petition on which the judgment was based had been disposed of on June 8th, and federal and provincial law officers were in favor of restoring the accounts and CNICs in question.
There is no danger in returning Zaheer’s family members’ bank accounts to normal, according to an associate attorney general. According to Justice Kalhoro, the case was straightforward because Dua Zahra had been found and the bank accounts and identification cards didn’t matter.
Restoring Zaheer’s family’s bank accounts and identity cards were mandated by the court in its ruling, and relevant departments were required to fulfill the court’s directive. Restoring Shabbir and Zaheer’s mother’s bank accounts and identity cards were noted by the court and the order was rescinded.
