On Monday, the Islamabad High Court merged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-(PTI) Insaf’s complaint about the alleged harassment of PTI leaders by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) with the case involving illegal funding.
The FIA was also given notice by the court.
In an application to the IHC, PTI leader Saifullah Sarwar Khan Nyazee pleaded with the court to stop the interior ministry secretary, FIA director general, and prosecution from conducting raids to detain PTI leaders in connection with the foreign funding case.
The petition stated that Saifullah Sarwar Nayazee was harassed by the FIA when they raided his home.
Justice Amir Farooq heard the PTI petition at the Monday hearing. He inquired as to whether the case is comparable to the one that will be heard on October 19. Yes, they are the same instances; after the banking circle, cybercrime is the subject of the investigation, said Barrister Gohar, speaking on behalf of the PTI.
He continued by saying that cybercrime sparked a new investigation into the funds.
The court then gave notice against the FIA investigation and instructed staff to combine the PTI plea with the case hearing.
It was postponed until October 19th.
