Legal Proceedings
ISLAMABAD: In a hearing concerning the continued detention of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, despite his sentence suspension, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has requested information about the rationale behind this decision and the amenities provided in jail.
During the court proceedings, an Assistant Superintendent from Attock Jail was present.
Imran Khan’s legal counsel, Sher Afzal Marwat, appeared before the court and voiced dissatisfaction with the conditions at Attock Jail.
The Assistant Advocate General disclosed that Imran Khan had a bed, chair, a 21-inch TV, and access to five newspapers.
However, concerns arose regarding jail conditions, particularly pest control and shelter for the detainee.
The IHC sought further clarification on the reasons behind Imran Khan’s continued detention despite the suspension of his sentence.
