A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has exonerated eight Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers, including women, from involvement in the Jinnah House attack and arson case. This development was presented during a hearing before Lahore’s anti-terrorism court judge, Manzar Ali Gul, on Wednesday.
During the proceedings, the lawyers representing the acquitted individuals requested the withdrawal of their bail applications, which the court approved.
However, the JIT report implicated Hajra Niazi, sister of PTI leader Hassan Niazi, in the case. Other individuals, including Fatima Haider, Beena Zeeshan, and Ruksana Naveed, were also found guilty in the JIT’s findings.
The court extended the interim bail of Hajra Niazi and the other accused until January 15. Legal proceedings for the case, registered at Sarwar Road police station, are ongoing.
The Jinnah House attack has been a significant legal and political focus, drawing attention to the involvement of high-profile individuals and PTI workers. Further developments are anticipated as the case proceeds in court.
