Gunshots were fired at Kamala Harris’ campaign office in Tempe, Arizona, causing property damage but no reported injuries.
The incident occurred just days before Harris was scheduled to visit the state, and Tempe police are investigating it as a property crime. This is the second such incident at the same office, following a September 16 shooting involving a BB or pellet gun. Photos from local media showed multiple bullet holes in the door and windows.
Sean McEnerney, the Arizona Democratic Party’s coordinated campaign manager, expressed gratitude for the quick police response and relief that no one was harmed.
The shooting coincides with a recent controversy over Harris’ comments about gun ownership during a live-streamed forum with Oprah Winfrey.
As Harris continues her campaign advocating for stricter gun control, this incident underscores the rising tensions surrounding gun safety and violence.
Tempe police are continuing their investigation into both shootings at the campaign office.
