Govt hikes LPG price by Rs7.31 per kg

The government has announced an increase in the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs7.31 per kilogram, raising the new price to Rs251.30 per kg. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) confirmed that these revised rates will come into effect after midnight on September 30.

In the notification, Ogra indicated that this price adjustment will also impact the cost of domestic LPG cylinders. The price of a standard domestic cylinder has been raised by Rs86.28, resulting in a new price of Rs2,965.

This latest price hike comes amidst growing concerns about inflationary pressures in the energy sector, as citizens prepare for increased household fuel expenses. The adjustment in LPG prices is a part of the government’s routine review of energy rates, which is influenced by fluctuations in the market.

The ongoing adjustments reflect broader economic challenges facing the nation, with many consumers expressing worries about the cumulative effect of rising fuel prices on their household budgets. As the government continues to manage energy costs, these changes are indicative of the ongoing economic pressures that have led to elevated living expenses for many families.

The government urges consumers to stay informed about market trends as it navigates these challenges. With ongoing evaluations of energy pricing, the public is advised to anticipate further changes in fuel costs in the near future, depending on market conditions and global energy trends.
