British film producer and former wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, Jemima Goldsmith, has made a clear statement emphasizing her unwavering support for a ceasefire in Gaza and advocating for a political resolution for Palestinians.
Using X, previously known as Twitter, Jemima stated, “To make it crystal clear, I am wholeheartedly and fervently in favor of a ceasefire in Gaza and a political resolution for Palestinians.” In October, she faced substantial online backlash for her perspective that seemingly acknowledged “both sides” in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Jemima said, “For the avoidance of doubt, to those asking, I am unequivocally & passionately pro-ceasefire in Gaza & a political solution for Palestinians. It’s worth noting that I have worked for UNICEF_uk for more than 20 years and in that time I have supported campaigns to end violence against children all over the World. This is the only time that the call for an end to the killing of thousands of innocent children has ever been remotely controversial.”
In response to the criticism, she had previously posted, “I stand in solidarity with the innocent individuals affected by this conflict, condemning actions from both parties.”
Additionally, she shared a brief textual message: “My support aligns with International Law and Human Rights. There’s no humanity in divisive political allegiance.” These statements sparked global criticism.
