Veteran comedian Umer Sharif’s body has reached Karachi in the early hours of Wednesday from Germany. The late artist’s remains was brought to Pakistan via Istanbul and his funeral prayers will be held in Clifton at 3pm today (Oct 6).
According to will of Umer Sharif, his body will be buried in the courtyard of Abdullah Shah Ghazi.
Earlier, the funeral prayers of legendary comedian were offered in Germany on Monday. Sharif’s funeral prayer was offered at the Turkish Mosque in Nuremberg. Earlier in the day, his body was handed over to his family.

Umer Sharif’s body will be transferred from Munich to Karachi through Turkish Airways. Sharif’s wife Zarrin Ghazal will travel to Karachi along with the body.
The comedy king passed away on Saturday at the age of 66 years after a prolonged illness. The artist was set to resume his journey to the United States for medical treatment three days after his stay in Germany.

He was admitted to a hospital in Germany’s Nuremberg on September 29 as his health condition deteriorated during the flight to the US.
Earlier, the departure of the comedian for treatment abroad was postponed due to his critical health. His blood pressure lowered while he was undergoing dialysis.
