Four people were electrocuted in Karachi on Monday, including a father and daughter, and four others drowned because of the heavy rains that have been falling on the city.
One of the terrible things that happened was that a man and his daughter were electrocuted at an apartment building on Al-Falah Road in the Bihar Colony neighborhood of Lyari. Rescue teams rushed to the scene of the accident and took the victims to the Civil Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Rehman Usman, who was 35, and Hifza, who was 10, were found dead. Police said that the incident happened when Hifza got shocked by an electric board in the apartment and her father also got shocked when he tried to help her, The News reported.
In another case in Lyari, an old man named Salamat Rakha, who was 60 years old, died of electrocution near the Kalakot police station. The person’s body was moved to the RPCH.
The person who died lived in the Baghdadi area of Lyari and was killed by electricity when he touched a power pole.
Waqar, the 25-year-old son of Deedar who worked in a dyeing factory, died when he was shocked at a company near Habib Bank Chowrangi that was under the SITE A Section police station’s jurisdiction. The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital so that it could be examined.

The young person who died lived in Keamari. Even though Monday was a public holiday, the heavy rain made things very hard for patients and other people who had to leave their homes.
