Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has strongly condemned any forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank, calling it a grave violation of international law and an act of ethnic cleansing.
Addressing the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers’ Extraordinary Session in Jeddah, Dar urged the Muslim world to take a firm stance against any such move. He stressed that the OIC must collectively reject and block all efforts to remove Palestinians from their homeland, whether under coercion or the pretense of humanitarian aid. He emphasized that no external force has the right to dictate their future, which must be determined through self-determination.
Dar outlined Pakistan’s recommendations, including the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement’s three phases. These include an immediate cessation of hostilities, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, unrestricted humanitarian access, and a comprehensive reconstruction initiative.
He highlighted the destruction of refugee camps in Jenin, Tulkarem, Nur al-Shams, and El Far’a, stating that Israeli aggression in the West Bank must cease. He called for reversing forced displacements, illegal land annexations, and settler violence, in line with UN Security Council Resolutions 2720 (2024) and 2334 (2016). He also emphasized the need to uphold the historical and legal status of Al-Haram Al-Sharif/Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Dar warned that the forced displacement of Palestinians is a red line and stressed the need for a credible political process leading to an independent Palestinian state within pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. He urged the OIC to push for Palestine’s full UN membership.
He also highlighted the upcoming June Conference, co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia, as an opportunity to advance the Palestinian cause. Calling for accountability, he lamented that Gaza has suffered immense devastation, with over 48,000 Palestinians killed and 90% of its infrastructure destroyed, demanding urgent global action.
