Five Witnesses
ISLAMABAD: The special court commenced its proceedings in the Adiala Jail on Tuesday, focusing on the cipher case, during which five witnesses recorded their statements to be officially documented.
In addition, the FIA team brought along a group of five witnesses for the purpose of recording their statements on behalf of the prosecution.
These witnesses have been identified as Nadir Khan, Imran Sajid, Muhammad Nauman Shamoon Qaiser, and Farrukh Abbas.
Judge Abu Alhasnaat Zulqurnain, presiding over the special court, arrived at the Adiala Jail early on Tuesday morning.
Accompanying him was Khawar Shah, the prosecutor from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
It’s important to note that a total of 28 witnesses have been identified by the FIA in relation to this case, all of whom will take turns to provide their statements throughout the proceedings.
Asad Umar gets invitation to join IPP: FIA presents five witnesses in cipher case
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, former federal minister Asad Umar made a statement, asserting that he had received an invitation to quit PTI and join the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) led by Jahangir Tareen. However, Asad Umar said that he had turned down the offer.
Addressing journalists outside an anti-terrorism court (ATC), Asad Umar expressed his unwavering allegiance to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
He mentioned that the decision to invite him to join IPP by leaving PTI was their prerogative. Asad Umar wished them well in their political endeavors.

The former federal minister also highlighted the escalating issue of smog in Punjab, even before the onset of November. He emphasized the importance of using high-quality fuel to combat the growing smog threat.
