RAWALPINDI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has interrogated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan concerning an alleged anti-state video uploaded from his X account. This investigation took place at Adiala Jail, where the former prime minister is currently detained.
Initially reluctant, Imran Khan eventually agreed to participate in the investigation on the condition that his lawyers were present. Jail sources reported that the FIA team visited Adiala Jail for the third time to question Khan about the controversial video. During the interrogation, the team showed him the video and probed its content and origin.
Over an hour-long session, the FIA investigators, led by Additional Director Ayaz Ahmed and Sub-Inspector Munib, posed 16 questions to Imran Khan. Represented by his legal team, including Chaudhry Zaheer Abbas and Intizar Panjotha, Khan answered the FIA’s inquiries, maintaining his stance on requiring legal representation during such proceedings.
This latest development follows previous denials by Imran Khan of any involvement in anti-state activities, coupled with his insistence on having his lawyers present during investigations. The repeated visits by the FIA to Adiala Jail underscore the gravity of the allegations and the ongoing efforts to clarify the circumstances surrounding the video.
The investigation traces back to May 30, when the FIA Cyber Wing launched an inquiry into a controversial social media post made from Khan’s official account on May 26. The post referenced the 1971 civil war and the Hamoodur Rahman Commission Report, with a provocative quote suggesting that Pakistanis should learn the truth about the events and figures involved, stirring significant controversy and prompting the current legal scrutiny.
