Female Kidnapper of Khalilur Rehman Qamar Reveals Disturbing Details

LAHORE: Lahore police successfully dismantled a 12-member gang, including the prime female suspect, involved in the kidnapping and robbery of well-known dramatist Khalilur Rehman Qamar.

In a press conference alongside Khalilur Rehman Qamar, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Imran Kishwar detailed the gang’s operations. The kidnappers had demanded Rs 10 million from the esteemed scriptwriter.

DIG Kishwar revealed that the woman suspect, who had lured Qamar under the guise of producing a drama, confessed during her statement. She admitted that the gang had been trapping high-profile individuals for the past two years.

The prime suspect, identified as Amna Urooj, disclosed the gang’s involvement in various criminal activities over the years. The suspects had attempted to evade arrest by deleting data from Qamar’s mobile phone, but police were able to recover the information.

“We arrested the prime suspect Amna Urooj by recovering the data and later apprehended the rest of the accused,” stated DIG Kishwar. He further explained that the suspects had held Qamar blindfolded for two hours before abandoning him in Nankana Sahib.

Amna Urooj confessed to deceiving the scriptwriter by expressing interest in a drama project. The police recovered an arsenal of weapons from the gang, including Kalashnikovs, SMGs, pistols, and wireless sets.

Khalilur Rehman Qamar commended the police for their swift action, praising them for fulfilling their promise of arresting the culprits within hours.

According to the drama writer’s police report, a woman named Amna Urooj contacted him, claiming to be a fan and expressing interest in producing a drama. Upon arriving at the specified location, he was confined in a room. Armed suspects later entered, assaulted him, and confiscated his mobile phone, cash, ATM card, and other belongings.

Qamar was then blindfolded and transported to an unknown location, where the suspects demanded Rs 10 million for his release. When the demand was not met, they abandoned him at an undisclosed location and fled.

The swift and effective police response has brought the perpetrators to justice, highlighting the dedication of Lahore law enforcement to protecting its citizens.
