In its effort to cut government spending, the federal government has decided to dissolve the Ministry of Capital Administration and Development Division (CAD), which manages affairs in Islamabad. This decision will involve the elimination of positions from grades 1 to 16 across all ministries.
The Federal Cabinet has assigned the Cabinet Division the task of overseeing the CAD’s dissolution, while the Establishment Division and Finance Division will handle the closure process and related financial matters.
As part of the reforms, the government plans to outsource various roles, including those in finance, cleaning services, and plumbing, across all ministries. Additionally, there will be a reduction in lower-grade positions, with all temporary roles being eliminated.
This initiative is part of the federal government’s broader right-sizing strategy, which aims to privatize certain institutions, shut down unnecessary departments, and save billions of rupees.
