BANNU/ISLAMABAD: In the Ghundari area of Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, terrorists launched an attack on a Frontier Corps (FC) checkpoint, triggering a fierce exchange of fire.
FC personnel responded swiftly and decisively, killing two terrorists during the clash. The intense gunfight lasted several minutes, according to police officials.
Authorities praised the professionalism and quick action of the FC troops, who successfully repelled the attack and secured the checkpoint. No casualties were reported among the security forces.
A search operation is currently underway in the surrounding area to track down any accomplices or fleeing militants involved in the assault.
Security sources say the attack was an attempt to destabilize the region, but the terrorists’ efforts were effectively thwarted by the timely intervention of security forces.
