FBR Seals Patiala Jewellers for Non-Integration With POS:
The Regional Tax Office Rawalpindi sealed Patiala Jewellers on Murree road on Tuesday because it did not integrate its Point of Sale (POS) system with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) as required by the Sales Tax ACT 1990.
On March 28, 2023, a dedicated team from the City Zone, under the directions of Mr. Mazhar Iqbal CIR City Zone, sealed the business premises of M/s New Patiala Jewellers on Murree Road, Rawalpindi for non-integration of its POS with FBR, in compliance with the directives of Ms. Tehmina Aamer, Chief Commissioner RTO Rawalpindi.
However, the owner of the outlet protested and did not allow the officers to seal the outlet, resulting in resistance.
After intensive efforts and the involvement of police at the highest level, the team successfully sealed the outlet at about 7 pm.
Sources reported that FBR has been taking strong action against retail outlets that do not integrate their POS systems with FBR.
Sources have reported that the Department could not announce the lucky draw on March 15, 2023, as planned, because Member IR Operations FBR did not approve the reinstatement of the lucky draw scheme for those who send POS receipts to FBR.
The FBR had earlier announced the reinstatement of this scheme.
