Watch how Fawad Chaudhry takes refuge in IHC to avoid his arrest again
ISLAMABAD: A senior PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry avoided his re-arrest outside the gate of the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday.
Police attempted to re-arrest Fawad Chaudhry in the parking lot outside the IHC gate, but Chaudhary alighted from his car, ran inside the court, and took
refuge in the courtroom.
This unexpected but stunning situation was seen at the Islamabad High Court
on Tuesday at sharp noon (around 2:45 pm) when Fawad left the court after the
IHC termed his arrest illegal under the MPO-3 and ordered his immediate
release.
When he sat in his park outside the main gate of the court, police tried to arrest him again, but the PTI leader left the car and ran inside the court with full force
to stay away from the police.
Earlier, the police presented the PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry in the Islamabad High Court as his lawyer filed a petition against his illegal detention.
Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb of the Islamabad High Court termed the
the arrest of Fawad Chaudhary unlawful under the MPO-3 and ordered his immediate
release.
IHC orders the release of Shirin Mazari and Senator Falak Naz
Meanwhile, the IHC ordered the release of two female PTI leaders forthwith _
Shirin Mazari and Senator Falak Naz.
Both were arrested under the Maintenance of Public Order on Sunday. The
court, however, suspended the arrests of both PTI women leaders under the MPO-3.
Shirin Mazari is the former federal minister for human rights and Falak Naz is a PTI Senator. The court observed that the police did not submit adequate record in the court to validate the arrests of Shirin Mazari and Senator Falak Naz.
PTI Senator Babar Awan appeared in the court on behalf of Shirin Mazari and Falak Naz.
The Remand of Dr. Yasmin Rashid rejected
An anti-terrorism court in Lahore turned down the request of the police to grant the physical remand of PTI leader Dr. Yasmin Rashid.
The court rejected her remand on the basis of her medical condition.
The directed police to shift Dr Yasmin Rashid to the Police Lines Hospital. The court also asked the investigating officer to provide relevant records in the court.
