Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, chaired a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet at the Finance Division. During this session, the ECC approved Technical Supplementary Grants (TSGs) for various ministries and divisions.
The committee approved the Ministry of Interior’s request for Rs2.363 million to cover troop costs and subsistence allowances. Additionally, the Intelligence Bureau Division received approval for Rs200 million in funding.
The Ministry of Law and Justice’s request for Rs19.373 million was also sanctioned by the ECC. Furthermore, the ECC approved a substantial allocation of Rs4,050.686 million for the Strategic Plans Division/SUPARCO to support the “Pakistan Multi-Mission Communication Satellite System” project.
In another decision, the ECC accepted the Ministry of Industries and Production’s proposal to allow SNGPL-based plants to operate from March 31, 2024, to September 30, 2024, ensuring a steady supply of urea fertilizer for the Kharif season.
The meeting saw the attendance of several key ministers, including Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, Power Minister Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Petroleum Minister Musadik Masood Malik, Industries & Production Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain, Economic Affairs Minister Ahad Khan Cheema, and Minister of State for Finance & Revenue Ali Pervez Malik. Other attendees included the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), federal secretaries, and senior officials from relevant ministries.
