Terrorists attacked the Saddar Police Station in Lakki Marwat, martyring four policemen, including Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Iqbal Mohmand, and injuring six others.
The police engaged in a fierce gun battle with the terrorists.
Upon hearing about the attack, DSP Mohmand and his team rushed to Pirwala Morr to provide assistance, but terrorists hit their vehicle with a remote-controlled explosion.
The blast martyred DSP Mohmand and three of his gunmen, along with cops Karamat, Waqar, and Ali Marjan.
Six cops at the police station were injured during the attack, identified as Head Constable Farooq, Constable Gultiaz, Amanatullah, Asghar, Sardar Ali, and Arif.
Also, The spokesperson reported that the terrorists fled after the attack, and the authorities launched a search operation to catch them.
Funeral prayers for DSP & Other Policemen
Funeral prayers took place for the martyred policemen at the Police Lines in Lakki Marwat.
Also, Senior police officials and community leaders attended the prayers.
PM Shehbaz Sharif expressed profound grief
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of four police personnel in the attack.
So, In a tweet on Thursday, the Prime Minister stated that the sacrifices made by police officers in the fight against terrorism are unforgettable.
Also, The Prime Minister prayed that Allah Almighty grant the martyrs a place in heaven and also wished for the injured to have a speedy recovery.
