KARACHI / ISLAMABAD: After a span of 8 years, the Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi declared former federal minister Dr. Asim Hussain, Qadir Patel, and several others acquitted in a terrorism case Today.
The ATC presided over the case, which Rangers filed in 2015 against Dr. Asim Hussain. The complaint alleged that his hospital in the metropolis provided treatment to terrorists.
The case also lists Anees Qaimkhani, Waseem Akhtar, Rauf Siddiqui, Qadir Patel, and Usman Moazzam as co-defendants.
Supreme Court To Hear Elahi’s Bail Plea On Aug 16
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has scheduled the hearing of former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi’s bail application for August 16.
A three-judge panel, led by Justice Ijazul Ahsan also including Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail and Justice Shahid Waheed, will preside over the hearing.
Elahi has petitioned the Supreme Court to overturn the Lahore High Court’s division bench decision made on July 17.
