LAHORE: Professor Dr. Alfred Zafar, the doctor treating the teenage domestic help who was severely tortured by a civil judge’s wife in Islamabad, has stated that the next 48 hours are critical for her life. The girl’s health unexpectedly worsened at the Lahore General Hospital. She has been undergoing treatment for the past six days.
On July 25, the case came to light when the victim’s family took her to a hospital in Lahore. The police filed a case against the judge’s wife for the alleged brutal torture of the 14-year-old girl.

The victim’s parents learned about the torture when they visited her at the judge’s house on July 23. They heard their daughter crying and discovered her in a wounded condition. According to the FIR, the judge’s wife subjected the girl to severe torture. The girl’s parents also claim that she was poisoned.
Upon examination, multiple injuries were found on the girl’s entire body, including serious wounds on her head that were infested with maggots. The injuries included swelling on her lips and eyes, broken teeth, ribs, and strangling marks on her neck.
Chest specialist Dr. Irfan reported that the victim had to undergo a bronchoscopy due to a lack of oxygen in her body. He revealed that the child has an infection in one lung and blood clots in the other. He said that the infection in her blood is affecting her overall health. Her condition has weakened significantly and the next 2 days are vital for her life.
Regarding concerns about possible poisoning, Dr. Zafar informed that samples from the victim have been sent to the laboratory for testing. The authorities are investigating the matter thoroughly to bring the perpetrators to justice.
