This year, number of dengue fever cases in Punjab has risen to 1,415
ISLAMABAD: Dengue fever continues to rapidly spread in Punjab and the federal capital, with an additional 70 cases reported in the province and 30 in the twin cities within the past 24 hours.
In the ongoing year, Punjab has seen a rise in dengue fever cases to 1,415.
The Punjab health department released statistics, which show that Lahore reported 36 cases of dengue in the last 24 hours.
Rawalpindi reported 17 cases, Faisalabad reported five, Gujranwala reported four, and Multan, Sheikhupura, and Gujrat each reported two cases.
Hospitals in Punjab are currently treating 77 dengue fever patients, and their condition remains stable.
Additionally, Rawalpindi reported 19 new cases, and the federal capital reported 11 new cases of dengue fever in the last 24 hours.
The dengue ward of Benazir Bhutto Hospital is accommodating a significant number of dengue fever patients.

Meanwhile, in August, there was a sharp increase in militant attacks across the country, with 99 terror incidents reported, marking the highest number recorded in any single month since November 2014, according to a report compiled by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS).
These attacks resulted in 112 deaths and 87 injuries, primarily targeting security forces personnel and civilians.
