Hyderabad Gas Blast
HYDERABAD: The tragic incident of a blast at a liquid petroleum gas cylinder filling shop in Hyderabad’s Preetabad area has left a devastating toll, with the death count rising to 10, on Sunday.
The explosion occurred at the LPG cylinder filling shop situated on the ground floor of Zacha Bacha Hospital area along Mir Nabi Bux Town Road in UC-8 of Neerunkot town.
The death toll climbed to 10 following the demise of another individual who succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment at Karachi’s Civil Hospital.
The aftermath of the blast left around 60 individuals severely injured, with a majority being children.
They were promptly provided with emergency medical aid at the Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) before being transferred to Karachi for further treatment.
Among the injured, 18 to 22 individuals suffered severe burns ranging from 80% to 90%, necessitating their referral to a major hospital in Karachi for specialized care.
The list of those transferred to Karachi, as per LUH records, includes Azam (7), son of Rais; Bilal (11), son of Asif; Azam (9), son of Shakir; Hasnain (7), son of Rasheed; Ali Raza (2), son of Bilal; Abdul Hadi (14), son of Asghar; Zulfiqar, son of Mohammad Umer; Akram Shah (38), son of Qurban Shah; Raeesudin (35), son of Alamuddin; Ali, son of Zeeshan; Akram (50), son of Waseem; Abbas Dodo (25); and Faizan (40), son of Ishaq.
In response to the tragedy, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali, accompanied by ministers, visited the Burns Ward to inquire about the health conditions of the injured individuals.
