Actress Suhani Bhatnagar, celebrated for her role as young Babita Kumari Phogat in Aamir Khan’s blockbuster ‘Dangal,’ tragically passed away on February 16 in Delhi at the tender age of 19.
The cause of her untimely demise was reported to be a side effect of medication. Aamir Khan’s production house officially confirmed the somber news, expressing deep condolences to her grieving mother Poojaji, and the entire bereaved family.
The heartfelt note from Aamir Khan Productions on Instagram remembered Suhani as a talented young girl and an indispensable team player, emphasizing that ‘Dangal’ would have been incomplete without her.
According to her father, Puneet Bhatnagar, Suhani had been battling a rare and challenging disease called dermatomyositis, characterized by muscle weakness and skin rash.
The use of steroids to address her medical condition had unfortunately compromised her immune system. Subsequently, she developed a severe infection that affected her lungs, causing them to weaken and fill with water, posing significant challenges to her breathing.
