Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the Convener of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), issued a fervent call to all political entities, urging them to embrace a spirit of sacrifice and solidarity to extricate Pakistan from its current quagmire. He cautioned against targeting the military establishment, asserting that such actions could imperil the nation’s welfare and democratic stability.
Addressing a press conference convened in Karachi, Siddiqui underscored Pakistan’s formidable challenges, including economic turmoil and the looming specter of terrorism, exacerbated by recent electoral proceedings.
“This juncture demands sacrificial allegiance for the nation’s redemption,” he ardently declared, urging political factions to transcend partisan interests in favor of the overarching national good.
Expressing contentment with the electoral process amidst adversities, Siddiqui lauded the timely conduct of elections, albeit fraught with apprehensions. He noted the emergence of numerous independent candidates as a testament to the relatively unencumbered electoral milieu.
While acknowledging MQM’s electoral victories, Siddiqui cautioned against complacency, asserting that arduous choices demand collective sacrifice from all political quarters.
He deplored the politicization of critical issues during this precarious epoch, advocating for unified efforts to safeguard Pakistan’s interests in the face of external pressures.
“The gaze of neighboring nations is fixed upon our nation, awaiting vulnerabilities,” Siddiqui cautioned, stressing the imperative of national unity to ensure peace, prosperity, stability, and security. He reiterated that targeting the establishment at this pivotal juncture would be deleterious to both democracy and Pakistan’s national interests.
Siddiqui accentuated the strides made in the electoral process, signaling an improvement over preceding polls. “The ascendancy of numerous PTI-aligned independent candidates underscores the relative integrity and fairness of the electoral proceedings compared to 2018,” he affirmed resolutely.
