Gang-rape of a female university student sparks tension in Lahore: FIR registered

LAHORE: A female student from a prominent private university in Lahore was reportedly gang-raped by three suspects in a flat within a private housing society on Raiwind Road.

The Racecourse Women Police Station has registered a case, naming the three suspects.

According to the FIR, the victim stated that one of the suspects, identified as ‘H,’ befriended her on social media and proposed marriage. She alleged that when she refused his attempts to establish a physical relationship, he devised a plan to lure her.

The victim recounted that the suspect picked her up in his car and took her to a high-end housing scheme, where he introduced her to two of his friends. Under the pretext of having breakfast, he then drove her and his friends to a flat within the housing society.

At the flat, the victim alleged, the three suspects gang-raped her and filmed the assault to blackmail her. She claimed the suspects threatened to upload the videos on social media if she disclosed the incident to anyone.

Additionally, the victim reported that the suspects took some of her sister’s bank cheques before abandoning her on a deserted road.

In her statement, the victim said the incident had destroyed her life and demanded justice, urging strict legal action against the perpetrators.

A police official confirmed that a team is actively conducting raids to apprehend the suspects. Investigations into the case are ongoing.
