Court Summons KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in Arms and Liquor Recovery Case

ISLAMABAD: In a significant development in the arms and liquor recovery case, a local court in Islamabad has ordered Ali Amin Gandapur, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to appear in person on May 20. During the hearing, the court posed new questions to Gandapur’s lawyer, Zahoorul Hasan.

The case, which dates back to October 30, 2016, involves allegations that Ali Amin Gandapur was part of an illegal gathering and violated the District Magistrate’s orders. The court is seeking clarification on several critical points, including Gandapur’s presence at the scene and his actions during the incident.

The court provided a detailed questionnaire to Zahoorul Hasan, Gandapur’s legal representative. Among the questions were inquiries about Gandapur’s awareness and understanding of the evidence and arguments presented in the case. The court also questioned whether the KP CM participated in an unlawful assembly and fled the scene using a black car, taking advantage of the nearby forest to escape.

Another crucial aspect the court is examining is the recovery of an unlicensed gun from Allah Nawaz, who was reportedly found wearing a bulletproof jacket in the back seat of Gandapur’s vehicle. In addition to the firearm, illegal weapons and a bottle of alcohol were also allegedly recovered from the car.

This inquiry comes amidst heightened scrutiny of the actions and conduct of public officials. The court’s detailed questioning highlights the gravity of the charges and the importance of transparency and accountability in public office.

Gandapur’s appearance in court is expected to shed light on these allegations and provide further clarity on his involvement in the incident. The outcome of this case could have significant implications for Gandapur’s political career and the broader perception of accountability among public officials in Pakistan. The next hearing on May 20 will be crucial in determining the future course of this legal battle.
