Council of Islamic Ideology Labels Iddat Discussion as ‘Inappropriate’

Iddat Discussion

Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), Dr. Muhammad Raghib Hussain Naeemi, has strongly condemned the inappropriate and disrespectful discussions and mockery surrounding issues of marriage, divorce, and iddat.

Dr. Naeemi particularly criticized the irresponsible and unethical opinions being expressed on social media platforms.

In a formal statement, Dr. Naeemi emphasized that the Quran and Sunnah have clearly outlined the principles and regulations concerning marriage, divorce, and iddat.

He stressed that Islamic law has defined the limits and restrictions surrounding these matters, ensuring that they are addressed with the utmost respect and adherence to religious guidelines.

Dr. Naeemi expressed deep concern over the nature of the discussions on social media, noting that many of them are inappropriate and unethical.

He highlighted the importance of handling such sensitive issues with the seriousness they deserve.

He urged individuals facing issues related to marriage, divorce, or iddat to seek guidance from religious scholars and medical experts rather than engaging in frivolous and pointless debates online.

The Chairman of the CII underscored the negative impact that irresponsible social media use can have on society.

He called for caution in using these platforms to avoid bias, mockery, criticism, hate speech, and violence, which he deemed detrimental to the country’s security and social harmony.

Dr. Naeemi emphasized that discussions about sensitive religious matters should be conducted with respect and understanding, rather than being reduced to sources of entertainment or controversy on social media.

Furthermore, Dr. Naeemi reminded the public that the principles of Islam regarding marriage, divorce, and iddat are rooted in compassion, justice, and wisdom.

He reiterated the importance of following these guidelines and seeking proper religious and medical advice when dealing with personal issues related to these topics.

He pointed out that Islamic law provides a comprehensive framework to address such matters, ensuring that they are handled in a manner that is respectful and just.

Dr. Naeemi’s statement serves as a reminder of the need for responsible and ethical use of social media, especially when discussing sensitive religious issues.

He called on the public to refrain from engaging in disrespectful and inappropriate discussions and to approach these topics with the seriousness and respect they warrant.

By doing so, individuals can contribute to a more respectful and harmonious society, where sensitive matters are handled with the care and understanding they deserve.
