Suicide Attack
Rawalpindi: On Friday, COAS General Asim Munir visited Bannu, where a suicide attack on a military convoy resulted in the martyrdom of nine Pakistan Army soldiers, quoting the military’s media wing.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement, indicating that the army chief received briefings on ongoing operations and the overall security situation.

COAS Munir also paid a visit to CMH Bannu to inquire about the health and well-being of the soldiers injured in the suicide attack.
The army chief expressed his appreciation for the high morale and unwavering determination of the troops. He emphasized, “Pakistan Army will continue to act as a bulwark against terrorism to safeguard the nation from this scourge.”
COAS Asim Munir, during interactions with officers and deployed troops, emphasized that terrorists’ cowardly tactics couldn’t coerce the Army, law enforcement agencies, or the nation.
He declared that terrorists mistakenly believed they could challenge the iron resolve of the soldiers and the authority of the state.
“We have fought for an extended period and will persist in our fight against the menace of terrorism until the end. He added, “The nation wholeheartedly pays tribute to those who have given their lives, and we will forever honor their sacrifices.”
Commander Peshawar Corps welcomed COAS on his arrival.
It is noteworthy that a suicide attack on a security forces convoy in the Janikhel area of Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulted in the martyrdom of at least nine soldiers. A suicide bomber on a motorcycle detonated near the military convoy, causing the casualties. Five more people injured in this attack.
The armed forces reaffirmed their determination to eradicate the menace of terrorism, and such sacrifices by soldiers further bolstered their resolve, according to ISPR.
