Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader and MNA Chaudhry Moonis Elahi has been appointed as Federal Minister for Water Resources.
The decision came during the Federal Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan today (Tuesday).
Chaudhry Moonis Elahi born 12 April 1976, is a Pakistani politician who has been a Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since October 2018. Previously, he was a member of the provincial Assembly of the Punjab province from 2008 to May 2018. He is son of Chauhdry Pervez Elahi and nephew of Chauhdry Shujaat.
Ministry of Water & power was previously held by Faisal Wawda who resigned after the his dual nationality case was unearthed. Faisal Wawda was MNA from Karachi.
Hailed from Gujrat and popular family of Chauhdry’s is known for political seniority and leadership. Ch Moonis Elahi’s is madea federal minister for the first time in his life. It was a long overdue demand of the PML-Q, an allied party with PTI government.
