Caretaker federal ministers
ISLAMABAD: About 25 members of the cabinet of the caretaker prime minister Anwarul Haq took oath today. Sixteen cabinet members are federal ministers and nine are advisers and special assistants.
President Arif Alvi administered the oath at a ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad.

The portfolios of the ministers and advisers to PM Anwarul Haq will be notified shortly. The ceremony started with the national anthem before the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and was attended by Interim Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, politicians, and prominent figures from all walks of life.
The first batch of the caretaker cabinet members took oath today at 5 pm in Islamabad.
Earlier, the interim prime minister Anwarul Haq concluded consultations regarding the selection of his cabinet members. Several prominent figures were considered for important roles within the interim administration.
Moreover, the interim prime minister is expected to retain three senior aides from Shehbaz Sharif’s team. The retired Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister (PSPM), Dr. Syed Tauqir Hussain Shah, the former Advisor to the PM, Ahad Cheema, and the Joint Secretary, Mohib Ali, will retain their positions.
Shah will serve as PSPM until October. After that, he will join the World Bank as group executive director of Pakistan for a four-year term. Cheema is expected to hold a position equivalent to a federal minister. The Press Secretary to the PM, Abdul Akbar, will also remain in office.
