JEDDAH: In this story, you can watch a brief clip of a video showing a Saudi robot touching a female reporter in an inappropriate manner, harassing the journalist.
It seems to be the first incident of robot’s harassment of a female journalist during a mega event in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia’s inaugural male humanoid robot garnered global attention for all the wrong reasons when it was accused of “harassing” a female reporter, as reported by Times Now.
Unveiled at the international DeepFest event, hosted at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center from March 4 to March 7, the humanoid robot was caught behaving inappropriately towards a female news correspondent.
In a widely circulated video clip, the reporter is seen discussing the robot’s features when it attempted to reach out and touched her bump from behind that stunned the journalist and others.
Clad in traditional Saudi attire, the robot engaged with attendees, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s advancements in artificial intelligence (AI).
“I am the first Saudi robot in human form, crafted and developed here in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I represent a national initiative showcasing our achievements in AI. Together, we are ushering in a new era of innovation,” declared the robot.
