SP and ASP Suspended by LHC for Failing to Recover Shahbaz Gill’s Abducted Brother

Shahbaz Gill’s Abducted Brother

The Lahore High Court has taken decisive action in the case involving the abduction of Ghulam Shabbir, the brother of PTI member Shahbaz Gill, by ordering the suspension of the Superintendent of Police (SP) and Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) under the Punjab Inspector General of Police (IG).

The court’s intervention comes in response to the ongoing failure to recover Shabbir despite earlier directives.

In a written two-page order issued by Justice Muhammad Amjad Rafiq, the Lahore High Court expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of progress in the recovery of Ghulam Shabbir.

The court had previously set a deadline for his recovery by June 10 and instructed the Inspector General of Police to appoint a senior officer to oversee the case.

The court’s order emphasized the urgency of utilizing modern equipment and advanced technological methods to locate Shabbir.

Specific directives were issued to employ geofencing, CCTV surveillance, Safe City project resources, and Motorway monitoring systems in Islamabad and Faisalabad.

These measures are intended to enhance the search capabilities and expedite efforts to trace Shabbir’s whereabouts.

The abduction case of Ghulam Shabbir has garnered significant attention and concern, particularly within the judicial and law enforcement sectors due to its implications and the urgency of ensuring his safe return.

The Lahore High Court’s proactive stance underscores its commitment to upholding justice and ensuring accountability in cases of serious criminal offenses, such as abduction and unlawful detention.

The deployment of modern technology and collaborative efforts among law enforcement agencies are crucial in effectively responding to such incidents and safeguarding the rights and security of citizens.

The court’s directive for the use of advanced surveillance and tracking methods reflects a comprehensive approach to tackling criminal activities and ensuring swift resolution in abduction cases.

As the investigation continues, the Lahore High Court remains vigilant in monitoring progress and adherence to its directives, aiming to provide timely relief to the affected family and uphold public trust in the judicial system’s ability to address such sensitive matters.

The suspension of the SP and ASP underscores the court’s resolve to hold accountable those responsible for ensuring public safety and securing the rights of individuals, reinforcing the principle of swift and effective justice in cases of serious criminal offenses.
