Son of Karachi DSP Allegedly Involved in Robbery of Pan Shop

KARACHI: In a startling development, it has been revealed that the perpetrator behind the robbery at a pan shop in Karachi’s Gulshan Iqbal area is none other than the son of a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

Both the DSP and his son have been apprehended and are currently detained at an undisclosed location. Police authorities have confirmed that an investigation is underway regarding their involvement in the robbery at the Pan cabin. They have assured the public that the full details surrounding this incident will be disclosed soon.

The incident came to light after CCTV footage surfaced, clearly showing masked individuals in plain clothes arriving at the “Five Star Pan Shop” in a police mobile vehicle and proceeding to rob the establishment.

Following a complaint lodged by the pan shop owner, Shahzeb Mughal, the police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused under robbery charges. According to Shahzeb Mughal’s statement in the FIR, on June 12 around 11 pm, three individuals in plain clothes arrived in a police mobile, and robbed him of Rs. 15,000 in cash, and cigarettes worth Rs. 50,000. He was forcibly taken into the police vehicle during the robbery.

He further detailed that the perpetrators took him to Gulshan Chowrangi, where they stole an additional Rs. 10,000 from his pocket, assaulted him and subsequently abandoned him by the roadside before fleeing the scene.

This incident has sparked widespread concern and scrutiny, particularly due to the involvement of law enforcement personnel in criminal activities. The investigation is ongoing to uncover all aspects of this troubling event.
