President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China has sent warm birthday wishes to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in a special letter, highlighting the strong and lasting partnership between China and Pakistan.
He noted that both countries have consistently supported each other through both good and challenging times.
Xi remarked that their relationship remains robust despite changes in the global landscape. He also reflected on the fruitful discussions during Prime Minister Shehbaz’s visit to China in June, reaffirming his dedication to enhancing China-Pakistan relations, particularly through strategic initiatives like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), aimed at fostering a prosperous future for both nations.
In another event, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif celebrated the 75th National Day of the People’s Republic of China. She extended her heartfelt congratulations to Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren and the people of China.
During her address, Maryam Nawaz praised China’s achievements and its steadfast support for Pakistan, stating, “The Pakistan-China friendship is founded on trust, respect, and a shared vision for a brighter future.”
She emphasized that the enduring relationship between the two nations exemplifies their commitment to mutual cooperation and global well-being.
Maryam also highlighted the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), calling it “not just a project, but a symbol of hope, development, and prosperity,” which is transforming Pakistan’s economic landscape.
She acknowledged China’s role in lifting millions out of poverty and its emergence as a global leader in technology, infrastructure, and industry.
Furthermore, she commended China’s substantial contributions during global crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters, recognizing its efforts to promote peace and development through the Belt and Road Initiative.
