Al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas carried out new attacks on Israeli soldiers

The al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, has announced a series of new deadly operations against Israeli forces, as Tel Aviv confirms that over a dozen soldiers have been injured in Gaza.

More than 300 days since Israel launched its war against the Gaza Strip, Hamas shows little sign of being weakened, let alone eliminated—a goal that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government set on October 7, 2023. Tehran Times this development on Monday.

The al-Qassam Brigades recently detailed their operations against Israeli occupation forces across several fronts within the besieged enclave, where the Israeli military is once again attempting to invade.

In the Tel al-Sultan neighborhood, west of Rafah in southern Gaza, al-Qassam fighters are engaged in intense close-quarters combat with Israeli forces and their invading vehicles.

Among the footage released by al-Qassam is a video documenting an ambush on an Israeli special forces unit using an explosive device planted underground. The explosion in the al-Farahin area, east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, severely injured at least three Israeli soldiers, who were subsequently evacuated by helicopter.

Additionally, a tank was destroyed at close range in the same area of Khan Younis, where Israeli forces have faced significant resistance since their invasion on Friday. On Saturday, al-Qassam targeted a gathering of Israeli soldiers east of Khan Younis with 107 rockets, setting fires at the location.

The Tel al-Sultan neighborhood has also been a flashpoint, with al-Qassam targeting an Israeli force inside the Indonesian hospital in the area using anti-fortification and anti-personnel missiles. The brigade claims that the attack resulted in casualties and the subsequent evacuation of soldiers by helicopter.

Footage released by al-Qassam shows the targeting of a building fortified by Israeli forces, with snipers reportedly hitting an Israeli soldier southwest of Tel al-Sultan.

Al-Qassam also targeted an Israeli D9 bulldozer with a Yassin 105 missile in the Zallata area, east of Rafah. Another ambush in Tel al-Sultan targeted a building housing nine Israeli soldiers, with the attack reportedly causing casualties and necessitating the evacuation of the dead and wounded.

Further footage from al-Qassam shows missiles being launched from Gaza. As the U.S.-backed war on Gaza by the Israeli military enters its 310th day, reports indicate that Hamas has recruited 5,000 more fighters in defense of the besieged territory.

The Israeli military has confirmed that at least a dozen soldiers have been injured in the ongoing battles in Gaza over the past 24 hours. Since the war began in October of the previous year, 4,284 Israeli officers and soldiers have been injured, including 2,190 since the start of the ground operation.

Official data also reveals that 689 officers and soldiers have been killed, with 639 severely injured and 213 still receiving treatment in hospitals, including 29 with serious injuries.
