ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will attend the unveiling ceremony of his late mother and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto’s wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Dubai.
The Foreign Office stated that Bilawal will undertake an official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on July 30 to participate in the ceremony and hold a meeting with his counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the meeting, the two sides will discuss the full range of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, as per the statement. The communique highlighted that the Foreign Minister would take part in the unveiling ceremony of the wax figure of the first Pakistani personality, Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, at Madame Tussauds in Dubai.
Benazir Bhutto, the first woman to be elects as the prime minister of Pakistan twice. He was tragically assassinated in a gun and bomb attack on December 27, 2007, shortly before the scheduled general election of 2008, where she was a leading opposition candidate.
Additionally, Bilawal will offer his condolences to the UAE leadership for the sad demise of Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed, the brother of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, the President of the UAE.
The upcoming visit of the foreign minister signifies Pakistan’s strong engagement with the UAE and the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, according to the Foreign Office. Both nations are dedicates to enhancing fraternal ties and deepening economically rewarding partnerships.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had also offered his condolences to the UAE President during his day-long visit to the country, accompanied by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and special assistant Tariq Fatemi.
