Bilal Shah
ISLAMABAD: Bilal Shah, the husband of TikToker Hareem Shah, has returned to home after a five-day detention in Karachi.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) detained Bilal Shah for questioning related to the controversial social media posts of TikTok Hareem Shah.
In a video statement, Hareem Shah previously alleged that her husband had been “kidnapped for unknown reasons.”

However, Shah’s family asserted that the FIA officials interrogated him in connection with his wife’s social media posts. The FIA officials picked up Bilal from Karachi’s Qayyumabad area, 10 days after his arrival in Pakistan.
During his detention, FIA team probed the husband of Ms Shah regarding the controversial posts published by an account operating under Hareem’s name.
Bilal, who is currently in Karachi, said, “I am back. I was treated with respect by the members of an investigation agency. :
They asked me questions about the Twitter account the name of Hareem. I told them that I had no idea what this was all about. They checked my phone and everything and found that I had nothing to do with that account.”
He mentioned that his family had filed an FIR against unknown persons for his “kidnapping,” but he is withdrawing that complaint. He said, “I believe in the law of Pakistan and have no time to fight these cases.”
Bilal Shah told the investigators that he didn’t know who is running Hareem’s account on the microblogging site X.
However, he said that account is being run with Hareem’s permission and she knew the account handler’s identity.
Notably, several high-profile figures, including Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leaders, have lodged complaints with the FIA about the defamatory content on the account.
Meanwhile, Bilal Shah said that he did not commit any crime and was picked up solely in connection with the ongoing probe into the X account.
Earlier, mother of Bilal Shah filed a petition in the Sindh High Court against the “illegal detention” of Bilal.
Shahzadi Begum, informed the court that her son, Syed Bilal Shah, had been picked up by law enforcement agencies on August 27 from the Korangi area.
