The King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, has bestowed the prestigious military medal, the Order of Bahrain First Class, upon Chief of the Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir. This honor recognizes General Munir’s outstanding efforts and significant contributions to strengthening the bilateral ties between Pakistan and Bahrain. The announcement was made by the military’s media wing on Monday.

During his two-day official visit to Bahrain, General Munir called on King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Commander of Bahrain Defence Forces Field Marshal Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and Commander of Bahrain National Guard General Shaikh Mohammad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The engagements included discussions on matters of mutual interest, emphasizing bilateral military and security cooperation.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that the dignitaries acknowledged and commended the achievements of the Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorism. They also appreciated Pakistan’s ongoing efforts for regional peace and stability.

As part of the visit, General Munir served as the chief guest at the 27th Raising Day of Bahrain National Guard. The event included a guard of honor and a demonstration related to counter-terrorism training exercises. The Bahrain National Guard commander expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Army for providing professional training in military and counter-terrorism domains.

This diplomatic and military interaction underscores the strong and enduring relationship between Pakistan and Bahrain, with a focus on collaborative efforts in security, counter-terrorism, and regional stability. The recognition of General Munir reflects the appreciation for Pakistan’s contributions to Bahrain’s military capabilities and the broader regional peace efforts.
