Army Chief
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir presided over the 267th Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) at the General Headquarters (GHQ), where key national security matters were thoroughly analyzed. The forum conducted a comprehensive review of the regional and internal security landscape, focusing on emerging threats and strategic preparedness.
The conference began by honoring the sacrifices of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians who have laid down their lives for the stability and security of Pakistan. The participants acknowledged their bravery and reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring lasting peace in the country.
Kashmir Issue and Regional Stability
A significant portion of the discussions centered on the situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary. The forum strongly condemned the ongoing human rights violations in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in light of Kashmir Solidarity Day, observed on February 5. Participants emphasized that India’s repressive policies in the region pose a serious threat to regional peace and stability.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, the forum called upon the international community to take notice of India’s continued human rights violations. The conference also took note of recent provocative statements by Indian military officials, terming them irresponsible and detrimental to regional harmony.
COAS Warns Against Indian Aggression
Speaking on the occasion, COAS General Asim Munir sent a clear warning to India, asserting that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“These hollow statements from Indian military officials reflect their growing frustration and are merely an attempt to distract their masses and the international community from their internal turmoil and blatant human rights violations,” General Munir stated. “Any misadventure against Pakistan will be met with full and resolute force, InshaAllah.”
Cross-Border Terrorism and Stability in Balochistan
The conference expressed deep concern over the use of Afghan soil by terrorist elements targeting Pakistan. The military leadership urged the interim Afghan government to take effective and tangible measures to curb cross-border terrorism, stating that mere verbal denials were not enough. The forum emphasized that Pakistan reserves the right to take all necessary actions to protect its security and the lives of its citizens.
Additionally, the discussion highlighted the importance of fostering socio-economic development in Balochistan as a countermeasure against foreign-sponsored propaganda aiming to mislead and radicalize the youth. The military leadership reiterated that no force would be allowed to destabilize the province.
“No one will be permitted to disrupt peace in Balochistan. The nefarious designs of foreign-sponsored proxies will be decisively countered with the unwavering support of the people of Balochistan, InshaAllah,” the forum declared.
Operational Readiness and Future Strategies
COAS General Munir commended the operational preparedness of all military formations and underscored the importance of continuous, mission-oriented training. He stressed the need for enhanced military cooperation, joint exercises, and strategic readiness in both conventional and counterterrorism operations.
In his concluding remarks, General Munir reaffirmed the military’s commitment to safeguarding national security. He assured that the armed forces remain fully aware of the challenges facing the country and will continue to fulfill their constitutional responsibilities with the unwavering support of the people of Pakistan.
